My current research interests involve humanistic management, and in particular narrative and cultural studies of organizations, self-organization and self-management, organizational archetypical tales; critical change management studies; organizational ethnography; and narrative approaches to research in the social sciences. The core of these areas turns around images and cultural ideas inspiring organizational transformation. My interests culminate in my most recent concentration on what I believe is the underpinning of all these areas, i.e. organizational archetypes, or powerful cultural constructs that lie at the heart of the way we organize and imagine organizations. The methods I am adopting in my research are, as I see it, particularly well suited to the aim of throwing light on such processes, i.e., ethnography and narrative methods. Recently I have been using a method focusing on the archetypical narrative, either by means of analysing ethnographic material or through the collection of fictive narratives pertaining to some theme or idea.
